Solid cart, few things to fix

The cart is a solid build and very affordable. Few things I would change are finding a way to make the top shelf easier to disassemble. It is very tough for a single person to do this. Also the rugs are nice that it comes with but I would prefer they are permanently attached. Then finally, add a secondary handle for loading this in and out of the cars when all folded up. At 100lbs, it’s not easy with just a single handle.

Thank you for the feedback Dan! The top shelf is significantly easier to remove by yourself if you loosen all latches on the cart and remove the side support bars first! The rug can be glued in place if preferred and we generally recommend having a second person lift the opposite end while the other lifts via the handle!

Built Like a Tank! This is My New On-Set Command Center

The Tilta Boulder (Indie Kit, Gray) has completely changed how I run a set. From the moment I unboxed it, the build quality was impossible to ignore. The aluminum frame feels indestructible, the casters roll smooth and lock with one stomp, and every panel, joint, and latch has the kind of precision you usually only get on gear that costs three times as much. After weeks of pushing it around concrete, gravel, and polished office floors for corporate shoots, it hasn't loosened, rattled, or shown a single scuff that mattered. This thing genuinely earns the "Boulder" name. What sold me even more was how fast it goes from box to battle station. The tool-free assembly is the real deal. No allen keys, no fighting with hardware. Just drop the posts in, lock the latches, and you're rolling. When the day wraps, the top and bottom trays clamshell into a hard case that locks everything inside, and the integrated handle and small wheels turn the whole thing into a rolling case I can slide into the back of an SUV solo. For a one-person or small-crew operation moving between corporate locations, that breakdown speed is worth the price of admission by itself. Where it really shines is as the Command Center for the client. I run it as my full video village on corporate shoots, with the monitor mount up top dialed in for client view, the IGT plate holding my DIT laptop, the Steadicam dock is a must, and cables routed clean through the cable hooks so everything is powered through my EcoFlow and organized in one spot. On photo days, I flip the same cart into a tethering station. The laptop sits on the IGT plate, the monitor faces the client, organizer bins handle cards and cables, and the magnetic fold-down side gives the art director/client a real surface to lean on and review images using a MacMini and CaptureOne. Universal mounting standards (1/4"-20, 3/8"-16, 40mm, NATO, Manfrotto) mean I can reconfigure the whole layout in minutes depending on the job, and the speed rail with height markings makes it repeatable shoot to shoot. The Boulder Indie Kit isn't just a cart. It's the most professional-looking, hardest-working piece of infrastructure on my set. Clients notice. My back notices. My workflow notices. Easily one of the best gear investments I've made this year. Now yall came out with a 6 wheel extended cab version looking like Ultra Magnus in the camera cart game. All thats missing from Tilta is a frictionless slider for the Ursa Cine 12K. You know you want to do it.

This cart is awesome. I'm a big fan!

Where do I begin? First off, this cart is solid and built like a tank. It's nice that this cart does break down but honestly, I think I'm just gonna leave it as is set up and roll it into a van for transport. But you can break it down if you have to. It's nice that they've created so many customizable accessories to truly make this platform your own. I really like the threaded mounting plates all around the cart. As far as my experience goes, fully loaded with gear and a few cases, I've had no issues moving it around once the tires were inflated to the proper psi. The ability to drop the side of the top shelf down so that you can use a keyboard comfortably was a huge selling point for me.

Incredibly Solid Production Hub at A Great Price

After looking at so many of the camera cart options out there, we decided we didn't want a camera cart - we wanted a production hub. And that's what we were able to build out very successfully on the Boulder platform. We roll it into location ready to serve a lot of needs simultaneously. We started with the Indie package and added more accessories. We've got a Tilta mini v-mount plate bolted to the top rail, and on that mount is one giant battery that will run everything pretty much all day. We've got the Osee 22 on the monitor mount, a Vaxis RX/TX monitor, a Zoom F6, and all of the Senn lav RXs mounted and powered together for easy management by one person. We've got the side table mounted for a DIT station with the cables bolted in place. We've got the bowl mount on the steadcam add-on so we can build out cameras without getting in anyone's way. It's not uncommon to have three of us working at the same cart. (If I get the XL version, will there be room for the entire team? Only one way to find out...) I've sent pics of the built-out rig to industry friends, and I think I've ended up selling a lot of these for Tilta. I promote this platform because I believe it's extremely solid with build quality that we wouldn't expect at this price point. Also, Tilta launched this with a bunch of useful accessories that make my life on set easier. I know my industry colleagues won't be disappointed. I did buy mine through B&H, but that's only because they had a faster shipping option and time was in limited supply. I ended up paying a little more and missing out on the bonus goodies Tilta sends if you buy from them. I will go direct for my next one...and there will be a next one. One tiny downside: mine arrived on a pallet and in a big wooden case. Getting rid of all that wood was a bit of a hassle, but they did ensure that everything arrive in perfect condition.
