The balancing plate helps you balance your gimbal. The pistol grip handle fits onto the plate and then a finger-tightening screw locks it in place. You can then easily balance your camera on the gimbal. You can also directly attach the balancing plate to a tripod with the 1⁄4” holes at the bottom of the plate.
